We could just expand Medicaid to include those who can't afford health insurance and be done with it. We don't have to come up with some new scheme of mandatory insurance if we're just going to pay through taxes for those who aren't equipped to buy it. KISS. KISS is what I am suggesting. We take it off the welfare rolls and make consumer controlled insurance out of it that is subsidised if needed. That is why the Swiss system works so much better than the Canadian or Euro systems.
