Oh come on, the land mania in Japan was ridiculous and deserved to get hammered. With commodities you have to find them and get them into production. That takes years, drill out the ore reserves, arrange financing, build the mine. The only sizeable copper mine to come on stream this year is Kansanshi, think of the total world production depleting existing mines. Mines close. In mining labour is a problem. Geologists are in short supply, experienced management likewise.
Let's see you rattle off the names of the new mines and when they will start up.
