Stephen O,

<the land mania in Japan was ridiculous and deserved to get hammered>

I worked for a Japanese real estate company in 1990. Please do not try to tell me ridiculous when exactly the same thing and worse is going on in the US, Canada, UK, Australia right now. At least Japan didn't have interest-only mortgages!

<Let's see you rattle off the names of the new mines and when they will start up.>

Why? I am not quite sure what that will achieve.

You just gave me your best pick, and here it is:
stockcharts.com

Stephen, that is not a good chart, I am sorry to say.

Right now the sector is undergoing serious distribution and that is evident in the stock's performance. If the stocks don't perform, those new mines will be taken private. Why invest in a new mine at $3 when distribution is going on, the stock gets taken down to $2, then a white knight saves the day and management gets a 'nice premium' of 20%. So, you get a cash offer of $2.40. These are not profitable trades.

This is simply not the time to be heavily investing in these base metals stocks.

D
