based on my post it should be fairly clear to you that a series of pics taken say every 5-10 secs for 5 minutes or so would give you a perfect pix of speed and heading, right?

Having said that, based on what I read so far, no pics where ever made of the actual event. If I am not wrong similar pics where made of a similar event with a vehicle driving at that speed on the same or a similar road in Iraq. From that observation my understanding is that the events of the day of the killing of the Italian agent where simulated with the result that they never took down the speed below the 55 mph. Also I believe the initial comments from the Italian side were like "they (the US) didn't tell us exactly how and where to identify the check point and on that road, you know, nobody slows down or they just get shot"...

I agree that this doesn't seem to be a clear cut case. But no doubt Berlusconi is under pressure to keep his Italian line tight and that commie woman in no way is even close to being a reliable witness. Sorry for the "commie", but that is what she is a far cry from your liberal friends. Or at least I hope so...
