Assuming the interest rates keep going up then "when" would be correct. However, I don't see it being as catastrophic in some areas as others would have you believe. You really have to factor in both the economy and demand for housing in each area. In my area, for example, I can see the higher end housing getting hit but the entry level market will likely stagnate or perhaps decrease by 10% or so but that is about it.
