fresc,
It would be nice if the government did something constructive about gunplay in Toronto.. instead of pissing away money on a gun registry that DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO PREVENT CRIMINALS FROM KILLING PEOPLE... (I know I'm shouting) shootings seem to be getting a lot of play here... but after a while we will become like the States in the sense that we will be blasse towards it... as the murders and shootings are relegated to the back pages if any pages... and we can all feel good that it was money well spent...

why do you defend such an obvious boondoggle ? show me the merits ? not the theory... cause the guns the the bad guys have aren't shooting theoretical bullets ..

sure we don't need the right to bear arms.. but we need public safety and the gun registry simply does not deliver... explain it to me ? how ? I can see all the crooks flocking in now to report... Remember what happened where cigarette taxes went sky high ? Was there a propensity of people to quit or a huge increase in smuggling and spinoff violent crime ?

zip... cuddly suit off... the gun registry is just liberal (small l) feel good bullshit.. accomplishes nothing except to make some software house a HUGE amount of money and more bureaucratic jobs....

ziiiip... cuddly suit back on...

regards
Kastel

fresc. You said...."Nobody needs a hand gun for protection!"......

And if someone is mugging you at gun point or with some other weapon or if someone is threatening your family at gun point and you could stop them with a hand gun or other gun do you think that then a person could use a hand gun for protection?

I often wonder just how many criminals registered their guns.?

"Nobody needs a hand gun for protection!"

If nobody needs a handgun for protection, why does every policeman in Canada have one in a fast draw holster? Why does ever police car have extra bigger guns in the trunk???? Why are the Border Guards demanding the right to carry guns while they work? Why are so many people without them getting shot on our streets??????
