Should Tony Blair lose his district race in Sedgefield, would he then necessarily be excluded from the government?

Yes I am fairly sure on that point. He would be out completely.

But he also must be reelected by the voters of his parliamentary riding -- the equivalent of a congressional district -- in the north of England.

/edit However I think Micheal Howard or Gordon Brown will turn out to be just as big bullchitters as Blair has been.

The Spectator (UK version) -

spectator.co.uk

They have an election special edition.

A somewhat conservative publication, >150 years old.

They did, at one time take a progressive position in favor of postage stamps.

In the early 1900s they took the advanced view that the "Motor - Car" would be important and useful.
