Don't get me wrong. I don't see our invasion of Iraq as being done strictly for the benefit of Israel. I see it as the result of a complex of mutually supporting reasons, only one of which was the desire of dual-loyalty Americans within the administration to assist Israel. Even some of the Zionists within the administration had multiple motives themselves.

Other motives:

Bush - finish the job Poppy has been criticized for leaving undone. Have a real war. Secure oil.
Rove - get the political support that ALWAYS accompanies a "wartime" President. Be able to smear opponents as "unpatriotic"
Cheney - a windfall for Halliburton. Secure oil.
Rumsfeld - a lab for his theories. Have a real war.

All these motives were supported by the Zionist neocons, who no doubt believed they were good for America AND Israel - I hope.
