Why shouldn't the Democrats focus on the public interest instead of the "upside" to them? Democrats have become a minority party because they fail to communicate credible solutions for problems or even a credible philosophy toward problems. I hear more and more of my friends claim that they don't know what Democrats are for - and neither do I - other than seeking power for themselves by worrying about the "upside" at the expense of younger generations.

Not long ago, Democrats owned the younger generations. They had ideas that made sense to young people. Those days appear over as Democrats sacrifice the young to keep feeding the gluttony of the baby boomers.

They don't have to agree with the Republicans but at least have an idea of their own! Even James Carville thinks they should have a plan of their own!

i see an upside if they start to represent democrats instead of sitting there. We used to be a two party system. they are only getting support from the extreme side.

Let's get them working on some ideas on how to save soc sec instead of waiting for a few more years and hope a democrat president will be in so they can say democrats saved soc sec.

I think more get voted out as people will be forced to turn away during the next election.
