Drygulch Dan (or perhaps you prefer "double D",

It sounds like you have your health as well as you wealth. If that's the case, then have a ball and ENJOY!

You didn't mention any philanthropic activities. I hope you've given some thoughts on that front.

Mark

Then what do I do for fun? Without skiing, boating, fishing, golfing and sailing what's the point of hanging around? We'll all be a long time dead afterwards.

realistically, dan....how often do you boat, fish, ski, etc?

the point is you can still do all of those things without 'owning'

we sold our lake home and boat several years ago, even though we sold at a 'profit'...i can assure you the cost of ownership (considering maintenance, taxes, upgrades, etc) outstripped the cost of 'renting' those trips...

we could have rented out the property, i suppose, but it was too much like a second 'home' and i just couldn't deal with the idea of strangers using our property

when i figured out how much we paid per 'trip' or even worse 'price per pound' for the fish <g>....i realized based upon the times we actually utilized the asset....we could have easily taken more than the same amount of trips without the headache of ownership

bottom line here is you can do and see PLENTY without having to own the RE associated with the activity
