Murphy and York were real heroes. Marion Wayne hid under his bed during WWII, then tried to buddy up to Marines in Vietnam. They thought he was a phony. Because he was a phony. I still like a lot of his movies, though, and almost none of Audie's. Audie did make one western with Jimmy Stewart that was pretty good. The funny thing was, Audie was so baby-faced that he wasn't believable in the hero roles.
