You are right that the US has run deficits during war time. Also, until now, the US has never gone to war without a tax increase. Talk about "sharing the burden" - NOT!

The tax cuts were intended to return the surpluses to the people (that was Bush's campaign promise). The exact same tax cuts then became a "stimulus package" - and most economists think they were poorly suited for that purpose. I think most of the stimulus over the last few years came from monetary policy, not fiscal policy.

BTW, funny how the facts were fitted to the policy!
Sound familiar?

Why does your man Bush want to make his tax cuts permanent, and bring on even more tax cuts, in a time of war (unprecedented) when we are running huge deficits? You'd almost think he WANTS to destroy the economy.

Re:
Currently the United States is at War.

That is wrong. The U.S. is presently engaged in illegal occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan and is war mongering to illegally attack Iran.

We are not at "war", to the contrary what we have a criminal operation in the White House engaged in crimes against native populations for the sake of colonialism, imperialism and plunder.

Ending the illegal actions of the mafia in the White House would do wonders for the deficits that the criminals and war profiteers are imposing on future generations of Americans.
