Controlling a deer herd in the wilds of England which are not much bigger then a parking lot for a K Mart in LA is quite a different proposition from controlling a herd in say the 250,000 acre forest of Northern WI. They have tried around cities to do the birth control thing and trap and remove and various other hair brained ideas and those places always come back to the best method, hunting or sharpshooters.

I would bet there are more deer in 2 or 3 counties in WI then there are in the entire country of England so what works there is really a moot point here.

Still, in more civilized places like England, deer birth control is a reality.

Now wait just a dang minute.

More civilized places?

How is England more civilized than the United States?

Sincerely,

/s/

An uncivilized brute from the hinterlands

ps - I don't hunt, but I don't have any issue with those who do.

Well, Venison tastes good, it is a lean meat, it is a fun weekend of experiencing nature, being in the woods, it is a unique experience.

I think any money spent on deer birth control is ridiculous. I am not ridiculing your position, the idea is silly.

They wanted to do that here where I live, then they trapped a bunch released them in a park and then the park called a special deer hunt. Too many.

Ah, "more civilized places like England..."

They sure are heads and shoulders above we uncouth 'mericans.

London Meter Maids Get DNA 'Spit Kit'
Meter maids in London, UK are being given DNA swab kits to identify anyone who spits at them.

Meter maidAttacks on meter maids in London are now so common that parking control officers are being given DNA swab kits to identify anyone who spits at them. A private lab matches the DNA samples against a national police computer database to identify any matches for prosecution on a charge of common assault, which carries a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison. Parking tickets generated over £1 billion (US $1.8 billion) in revenue last year.

Article Excerpt:

NCP security chief Gordon McLardy said: "Spit kits have already been used by Transport for London and a number of bus companies and have led to a marked reduction in incidents."
