let's look at who is on their editorial staff. I fault newsweek completely. this was a direct attempt to embarrass our government over rumors that have been going on for three years.

It was a piece of trash. Hopefully a shake up by newsweek , a better mix of backgrounds and experiences on their editorial staff may help.

But I would be cautious about criticizing Newsweek too vociferously for failing to recognize something that neither I nor anyone else recognized despite plenty of opportunity to do so

They are the ones who printed the lie. They claim to "fact check" all of this stuff. No need to be cautious in nailing them.
