Regardless of how big or small a proportion of the whole they are there are two ways for them to go. One is to demand equal treatment under the law and to be part of the system.

The other is to demand equal treatment under the law and to try to unravel the system of rights and benefits they are not presently entitled to. They could be asking for relief from the taxes for things they will never use. Imagine if the Homosexuals were given a free ride on taxes for schools, children's aid, women's distress centers, children's hospitals, parks, the new child care fiasco, and much of the welfare support for unwed mothers, or the cost of collection for child support. Just the cost of Policing for domestic disputes and the cost of keeping the husbands who kill their wives in jail is staggering, and if you have ever tried to educate children, this too is a Heterosexually caused problem. All of those things we all pay for but most Homosexuals will never use. BUT as we all do, they pay for them. So imagine if they got a tax exemption, which is a valid way to look at the problem. Then Heterosexuals would be forced to pay for the services they are using. Half of the property tax is school tax, imagine if the courts decided they should be exempted.... And Canadian Courts have made equally staggering decisions.....

They could also go after the property taxes every single citizen has to pay so that Churches don't have to pay any. Or the Income that Churches as corporations get and spend without paying any Corporation taxes..... Churches exist on the backs of the General Population. Well, why should they? Only 25% of Canadians attend church regularly, why should the other 75% bear the burden of someone elses need for a church????

There are lots of options in dealing with the question, it is just a matter of defining which options we want to pay for.

My personal favourite is the idea of making men who beat women go to prison for the first offence, and on release making him relocate to the other side of the country and being banned from the province his wife lives in for 25 years.....But then I like laws with teeth......
