I think if we quit eating meat, Grainne would probably not mind so much if we used chem fertilizers. After all, not eating meat would be such a good step both for our health, and for morality (as Grainne sees it) that I'm sure she would compromise on chemical fertilizers. But you could ask her, if you are really interested.
