Can you explain to me how this works? The oil for food program was strictly under the supervision of UN.

That's why it's a scandal, ST. The UN was supposed to stop this behavior. Instead, they aided and abetted it - for a very good price.

But assume that Saddam could sell the oil to whomever he wanted (which is certainly not the case) and that he traded it with people who were calling for an end or at least easing of the sanctions, then what of it? All it means is that Saddam preferred to benefit those who called for an end to the embargo than Bush's buddies. How is this a stain on Galloway?

Galloway was not elected Honorable Representative for Saddam Hussein. Taking millions of dollars in bribes from a foreign tyrant in return for shilling for him shamelessly in the House of Commons - you can't see what's wrong with that? I don't think we have much to talk about in that case.

BTW, the article was published in a newspaper. It's not an editorial, it is an article publishing the Iraqi Oil Ministry papers, which as I have said, have been vetted. The full form with notes and testimony will be published when the Senate Committee publishes its report, and you can find more that is already public I'm sure. Why don't you have a look?
