Ted, The GOP want's to lower the voting requirements so that they can slam dunk every nominee Bush puts up.

Lower? It's always been a simple majority. That's what the Constitution says it should be. Otherwise, for example, Clarence Thomas wouldn't have made it with 48 votes opposing his nomination.

The filibuster isn't mentioned anywhere in the Constitution. Instead, it's just a Senate rule, but one with a lot of tradition behind it. All Frist wants to do is abolish it for judicial nominees. The only one living in an alternate reality is Harry Reid. Even Barbara Boxer is at least honest about what's going on.
