My point was Peter, that it is probably not the time to inflate already overly emotional feelings. Nothing can be accomplished by that.

Harper has blown, probably the best chance he could ever hope to get, all because he couldn't control his emotions for a week. Time for a leadership convention methinks.

"If it were me, I would call for an RCMP investigation of all advertising contracts let by the Federal governments in the last 10 years in every province of Canada. If Harper were smart, he should do this on Monday."

Don't be stingy here Peter, extend it to 20 years, it may change your perspective.

I'll tell you what I would do Tuesday tomorrow, but I bet we could make Mr Martin wish he had lost that vote of Confidence by next Thursday........

If I were Stephen Harper on Tuesday I would agree with Mr Martin that it is time that the house became more agreeable, and got down to some work. I would reiterate my acceptance the budget...."it is not a bad budget" and my complete opposition to the "Bribe" the Liberals put in for the NDP. I would also agree to vote for anything that is in the BEST Interests of Candians and against any legislation that is not in the best interests of Canadians. I would have every Conservative researcher checking every piece of paper that has to do with government contracts regarding advertising, the Asper family, the CRTC, and any contract from the government to Canada Steamships.. I would ask for them officially under Freedom of information, I would have someone notify the Mounties quietly that this was being researched...... I would find out the salaries of MP's in 1989 and see if there has been any real increase in income since 1989.

In the meantime, I would have my finance Critic start to muse openly whether Government surpluses were in fact due to Government Budgetary finesse or whether they were just symptomatic of gross over taxation of the middle class and particularly seniors in Canada. I would also question Tony Valeri's input on the Stelco CCAA, even the Judge complained, but agree with the intent of Mr Valeri's suggestion, that workers pensions in Canada needed to be protected nationally and paprticularly from the kind of bad legislation introduced in Ontario by the NDP. I would ask why the present budget has no remedy for the present low status of the wages and pensions in companies under CCAA, and why foreign aid was secured for others while Canadian workers were of no concern to the NDP.
Why has the Government not moved to remedy this legislative problem that has been facing Stelco workers and many other Canadian workers in Canada???????
