Britain's biggest building society, Nationwide, yesterday trimmed its forecast for house price growth this year to between 0% and 2%, but said it did not believe the market was heading for a crash.

The society said its net mortgage lending fell in the year to April 4, and it expected to sell fewer home loans this year as the slowdown continues.

They get to keep the taxes instead of the US getting to keep the taxes.
