You dont have to renominate bork to get to where you want to go. Right to privacy is in--it would be a big deal to reverse and return the matter to the states as you suggest although philisophically i agree with you. More practically you need a court that will work on the edges of abortion. Shrinking the time frame is a good first step. Anyone who has seen a sonogram recently knows whats human even if we still disagree on an exact date. If you can move abortion back to first trimester in most cases and effective evern earlier by allowing morning after pill we can reduce the problem. If you give it to the states, states like massechusets probably will consider abortion beyond delivery while states like alabama will outlaw abortions bringing back either coat hangers or more probably fast cars. Could be a more messy proposition than you might think. mike

If Bork can get 51 votes so be it. Thats the way the system is supposed to work. Now, if you are saying we are now so partisan that our elected officials will no longer vote their conscience then we have a problem a lot bigger then the current one. That is OUR DOING and we only have ourselves to blame. jdn
