Everybody uses Toronto for NYC these days. I have one daughter, one son-in-law and one grandson who belong to SAG. They explained to me that the reason for filming in Canada has been to by-pass their union. They also told me that the trend is reversing for many reasons. For example, much filming that had moved to Canada from the SAG studios in Wilmington, NC is moving back.

Everybody uses Toronto for NYC these days. yes....he spent about 8 weeks there on location for CM....he did go to nyc to shoot some skyline to composite into the footage done in toronto... btw... at the prescreening of cinderella man for the production crew, the union was out picketing ron howard, calling cinderella man the poster child for outsourcing union jobs <vbg> Crowe is a "punchup" type anyway, known for his brawling yep, he got in a fight with his own bodyguard during the shooting of CM .....funny :)
