Re: Round Rock, Texas, November 13, 1998

<<<Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq: DELL) unveiled the first manufacturing center on its new 570-acre campus in northeast Austin

Looks like someone made a rather colossal mistake. While there is an Airport near that location, it's a tiny single runway general aviation facility, not suitable for cargo jets. That Airport (Birds Nest) isn't even listed in the Airport Guide: the-airport-guide.com

Austin's main airport is south of the city, not north of it.

Do you really think they thought they were getting a location near "the" airport but got mixed up? Ouch!

Meanwhile, they've been getting rid of workers in that area through attrition austinxl.com or laying people off 1,700 at a time, cbsnews.com as Dell stops even assembling components here and become more and more a distributor of systems designed and built by companies like Lenvoa/IBM.
