Knee-jerk partisanship and/or distrust

For a lack of further information, I can't do anything but speculate. Maybe it's fear?

None of which are reason to deny these candidates an up or down vote in the Senate. The inability of dems to find any dirt on these individuals or explain themselves better to the American people doesn't help. None of us know for sure why they are being rejected.....it hasn't been fully explained.....but I think most of us can guess. And in all fairness.........their (dem) argument doesn't hold water.

That is why dems will lose this battle.

Also.......you said this:

they're supposed to behave like statesmen, not street brawlers. They're supposed to be noble enough to represent all the people, not act exclusively as prescribed by their core. There's supposed to be just a little bit generous of spirit to those who are on the outs, or at least pretend to be. Which is why I have no patience with this winner-take-all arrogance. The filibuster is the bone allowed the minority to be used in emergencies to trim back the greatest excesses of a majority too full of itself. Using power to take away even that bone disgusts me, underlying issue notwithstanding. In a better environment, the filibuster bone wouldn't be necessary because a gracious majority wouldn't push candidates that were totally unacceptable to the minority, or at least would do so with some grace.

I assume you believe that republican senators are acting like power addled brutes? Lacking in generosity and nobility, and arrogant to boot. Which individuals are you referring to and how have they rattled your cage?

The majority have allowed the minority the right to filibuster these nominees for four years. And Senator Frist is further allowing each senator an entire hour to address the issue. (as if it hasn't been filibustered to death) In your opinion.....how much longer should the majority give the filibuster? Should the filibuster only end when the majority and the President give in to a spoiled contingent of democratic senators? Would that satisfy your sense of fairness?
