Was the Civil War in the USA really fought over the 'slavery' issue? American History scholars love to debate that topic. I am sure the topic of whether or not the war in Iraq was fought for the official rationale will be argued until the end of time. In both cases, however, the outcome of achieving greater degrees of liberal democracy will forever be lauded. In the first case the cause of freedom for all Americans was declared as a noble and worthy cause; where as, in the latter freedom and justice for ALL is advanced to the next tier. That is what will be of value in coming generations.
