Theresas opposite the Nassau inn on the north side of Palmer square. Everything is good and if you like wine, look at the wine specials by the glass. Some real treats from italy and it changes every week. All the food is good--great pasta, pizza too if you are in the mood. Best cold antipasto ever. Tiramasu is the best as is the bread pudding for desert.

My own view is that the Bush folk want to get rid of it and that the proposals for private accounts are simply a step in that direction.

I think the right wants to separate out the welfare part of it. They think that private accounts will work so well that people will clamor for more, and most of SS will convert over. If private accounts don't work out, then they won't be extended. This gradual approach is the way to find out in the real world.

The Dems, of course, want nothing to do with this approach. They are reactionary on SS, and only want to increase taxes to pay for it. To them, it's the crowning New Deal legislation.
