It wouldn't enter my mind. I don't find any joy in calculating statistic or polling. I find them both to be so arbitrary that by the time current statistics are reported, a new statistic exists to replace old statistics. That is how fickle and difficult it is to make determinations imo.

What is important is perception. Isn't that what the MSM is attempting to do.....form a perception? They'd (the MSM) call what has happened at abu ghraib and gitmo "abuse" and "atrocities." But I think most of us are capable of exploring all sides, and it really does all depend on seeing through all of the media information and being cynical enough to demand the truth.

The NYTs and Wa Po can't control events to the extent that they'd like. It's high time they understand that and act accordingly. No one likes a bully or an organization that manipulates information. And we all...at least those that take the time to be informed...... know...... that information can be manipulated in ways that favor one perception or another.

The discussion was between you and some one else........I found your analogy interesting......I just read along and commented.

How would you go about calculating the number of people there are out there who are that agitated over MSM reportage?

Just check the polls on the subject.
