last time I looked the democrats have been voting for years against Bush's energy plan just because it has his name on it...

Another idea I had was that Bush should have turned Iraq's oil industry into a corporation and then mandated that 50% of the shares go to the elected constitutional gov't, and the other 50% would be distributed as to all citizens of Iraq.

Interesting idea, but not Bush's decision to make. Despite the critics comments that "it's all about oil", the Iraqi oil is still the property of the Iraqi people.
