Zonder, Roald Dahl wrote many children's books, but he also wrote some very twisted science fiction stories and novels, probably long out of print. Dahl was host of an even more twisted and sadly short-lived CBS television show in 1961

I know what you mean about languages. If you can believe this, here in the States my second-grade class was taught French, and our very young, uncluttered minds soaked it up like the sponges they were at the time. No, I remember not a word of it; I have never had occasion to use it. In later years, I studied German and Latin. Same thing as with the French, although I sometimes have flashbacks. <g>

Exposing children to various languages early in life is a terrific idea, I think, and we do have the additional advantage today of various foreign language television channels. - Holly
