Charter schools are funded by the local school district and get 90% of the amount per pupil that the regular schools get. Our charter school applies for grants and does fundraising. If it were just a question of money, Asbury Park should be at the top of the heap, as it gets about $14,000 per pupil, and the state average I think is between $7,000 -8,000.
