His point was clearly that it's unpatriotic to give them fodder to think that this is a war against Islam. Reporting the erection of a cross as a war memorial is as likely to do that as reporting on an upcoming report about mistreatment of the Koran You're just making that up, there is no evidence for it. Not one Islamist has done anything iwth it. Do you think it would really sway them one bit if we went around hiding evidence of Christianity in this country? These guys are self-centered, they make their points on what we are doing to them. The Koran story fits that framework; talk of a new crusade fits that framework; our funeral ceremonies do not fit that framework.
