The ancient Jewish people are largely the inventors of Monotheism,

Not quite right, the ancient jewish people believed there were many gods but that they had a special arrangement with one of them (and that their god bested the Egyptian gods). The idea of mono-theism was incorporated into Judism by the influences in Babylon. The view became predominate when the Jerusalem branch of Jewish teaching was wiped out by the Romans and the Babylon branch and it's Talmud became predominate.

Monothesim (as we know it) has its roots in Zororasterism and the god Zarathustra.
