I guess amphetamines, cocaine, heroin, ... must be legal in Monaco

No, but I would not mind it if they were. "Freedom" is not just a concept to tout around when you want to invade places, you know :-)

Besides, I don't know how long it has been since you have strolled any major city's nightlife, but those and most other drugs are widely available without legalization anyway.

Taxes on manty items, such as cigaretees, alcoholic beverages, and gasoline are included in the price.

That kind of thing is hard to exaggerate in a country that is 1 minute away from another country (France) and 15 minutes away from another (Italy). A lot of French who live around here cross the border to Italy to stock up on cigarettes, for example.

So US residents of Monaco don't pay VAT?
Because if they do, that is a misleading statement.

If you look at the sentence in its entirety, it is rather obvious that I am talking about income tax and not sales tax (or VAT).

The only person to be misled could possibly be someone who had not followed the conversation at all AND saw only the half-sentence you cropped and posted.

Re tax rates - Thanks for the table. I didn't mean to ask YOUR specific tax rate but was curious about average rates. Since you've asked: I don't have a tax rate, as I pay no taxes whatsoever on my income.

US tax rates don't look that high to me, actually. Tax rates in UK, France, and Scandinavian countries in Europe are MUCH higher. Then again, they are mostly welfare states, so they would need much higher tax revenues.

>>>I guess you can at least agree that your taxes went to cause that was more beneficial to you and your loved ones under Clinton.<<<
Rwanda? Yugoslavia? Money for the Food For Oil scandal? Selling the Lincoln Bedroom? An DEC trhat couldn't find its zipper, much less the frauds? Give me some help, I'm having a problem here.

Cute :-) Obviously, I was referring to your taxes going to something other than carrying out a pointless invasion and subsequently sustaining a pointless occupation. All those billions and billions ticking away every day that passes... how could Clinton have spent your taxes in a more destructive way?

I've yet to hear of an America at war that had a balnced budget. Wrong question.

Does that mean you agree with how your tax dollars are being spent in Iraq?

I heard they're in Syria. :-)

LOL! Well, why don't you go invade and find out? If it doesn't work out, Bush can always dump the responsibility on CIA for "faulty intelligence" :-)
