All those American troops were killed, or wounded, for nothing because SVN was taken over by NVN, and those people were worse off than they were before we got involved. Without a doubt, that was a lost war for us. IMO there are no differences between SVN or NVN. They are VN. What were we doing there? We didn't understand VN. We had nothing to gain and we had nothing to lose. How could we lose something we never had? We got in because of LBJ's giant ego. Why do we have to let someone's ego get us into a mess? I don't know how you keep score in something like this, but IMO we did not lose.
