do you think age had anything to do with it? Yes. I am 50 yrs old. The guy who just hired me is 54 yrs old though. Able and sharp as a razor though from what I can tell. The internet is flooded with advertisments for jobs placed by head hunters. These head hunters are working for personal departments of companies looking for people to hire. They obviously feel they have money to waste as they will not look on the internet themselves to hire anyone. It's my belief that none of these dumb idiots would know a good engineer if one actually fell on thier heads. The guy who just hired me placed an advert on the internet directly. I sent him my CV, he sent me a job offer and I accepted. He knows how to save a buck. I can tell straight off. I have been working for the past couple of years though. I know the job market well, and can say in the UK it is tough. I know lots of guys of all ages looking for a real job.
