Well, yeah, that's where we started. It's not a set of ideas but a reaction to this mind-numbing partisanship. The latter, I get. The former, I can't get my head around.

If centrism is, in essence, a temperamental reaction against polarization, then it has value and staying-power only as long as the polarization problem is ubiquitous. Not that that is worthless, only that it is a reactive/defensive/negative position rather than an inspiring alternative set of ideas.
