<The highest levels of our military command are getting rattled.>

A week or so ago I watched King George II answering a question and his body language and mouth were saying totally different things.

The mouth wasn't being totally logical 'We're winning. That's why the terrorists are fighting. Because we're winning.' Huh? I thought. Meanwhile, he was shaking his head instead of nodding and stepping backwards.

I wouldn't call it rattled, but it wasn't outright confidence.

Then, in another interview [I don't watch many] he seemed quite uncertain about what seemed to me a reasonably straightforward question.

I think it's fair to say that things are not all hunky dory.

I agree with you on the decision-making. The teams below are the ones who have to act as teams; they should choose their team members, to a large extent anyway.

I know one way to RAPIDLY increase enlistments. Do what we have done in previous World Wars. RECRUIT OVERSEAS. Yep, promise people American Citizenship if they join the US Military for a minimum 4 years. We would be SWAMPED with potential enlistees and be able to pick the very best. Hey, the Romans did it. These are the exact same methods used by Robert McNamara to destroy the morale of the officer and NCO corps in the 1960s.

Our finest won't tolerate this nonsense. They will immediately recognize that the Pentagon is trying to cover their own butts.

I have nothing to base this on, but I get the impression that the super intellectuals in the pentagon, keep trying to force some unproven management technique or political agenda on our military.

It amazes me that we still have a terrific military and not have the military turn into something like they have in those banana republics.
