Well we've been at war for over 2 years now, 1600+ dead and 12,000+ injured.

Please do let us know when it's time to start thinking about what motivates the enemy.

The only problem is that this war is more ideological than territorial. Thus, the only way to win is for one ideology to die off, but that's never going to happen as long as we have enough people on this side of the ideological war who think the other side is justified to any extent whatsoever in carrying out their acts of terror.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't address our faults whenever possible, but it does mean we should all be working towards victory. The enemy will never be impressed with any measure of "understanding" on our part, nor will their supporters. Therefore, the "understanding" is just to placate our self-guilt and self-loathing.
