Irrelevant. This is why:

When Germany invaded France, any Germans the French killed were (1) SOLDIERS (NOT civilians) and (2) that was legitimate self defense, killing the attacker.

When I ask you about the thousands and thousands of Iraqi civilians killed over the course of your country's invasion and occupation of Iraq, the difference is that (1) we are talking about CIVILIANS (unarmed women, children, old people, etc), and (2) Iraq did not invade the US (quite the opposite) Iraqi civilians your military is killing regularly are not dangerous to American citizens (again, quite the opposite).

A more apt comparison to your "do you think the French military, gov't, and populace GAVE A D**N about how many Germans it killed?" would be if the subject was whether or not Iraqis should feel sympathy for US soldiers the insurgency kills. In that case, I agree with you, citizens of the invaded country (Iraqis) probably don't give a hot damn about how many of the hostile army (Americans) are killed and maimed.

And all for what? It makes me sad.
