And some also want Israel destroyed. What's not to understand here? This is not the first time a people is of two minds. I suspect that once a Palestinian state is established, the minority who want Israel destroyed will grow smaller over time. Actually, that's why I don't believe the forces exploiting the Palestinian plight really want a Palestinian state. The people who want Israel destroyed will toss up all sorts of complications. And because of the nature of compromise, which is required if a Palestinian state is to become a reality, the anti-Israel zealots only need to be a small but significant minority, and I don't think that's as issue with them. Like I mentioned in a post recently, to be honest, I am sick of the squabbling between the Israelis and the Palestinians. Yesterday, the Israelis took offensive action against the Palestinians probably because of some bad deed done by the Palestinians previously, and in turn, Hamas fired rockets at Israel. Both the Israelis and Palestinians continue to act on the level of 12 year olds which is not uncommon for people caught up in a blood feud. Frankly, I have had enough of both of them. I think the US should step back and let them get to a point where they are behaving like adults. In fact, I think that's what the Bush administration is doing.By the way, any word on Arafat's billions which were stashed away in Swiss bank accounts? Kind of funny how he's richer than Bush, Kerry, Cheney, and Edwards combined. Last I heard, Abbas and Arafat's 'wife' are fighting over the money. ted
