"Would you have us and Iraq quit the fight and submit because our enemies are ruthless and persistent?" Not at all for us but as for iraq, thats something in the end thats beyond our power to do. We have to incent iraqis to win this and have fall back positions where we wont ever have a total loss. Good guys control 14 of 18 provinces and certainly can produce 2 solid anti-terror states. We may one day have to live with a sunni mess in the 4 sunni provinces. Hope that doesnt happen but in war, you dont win every battle. No one is talking here of failure in Kurd and even Shiaa areas. The interesting thing in shiaa areas is that iran has the same interest in stable state if it breaks that way. MIke
