Perhaps this new internet age has something to do with it? First the dotcom and now the housing bubble in such a short period ot time. Real time access to all information makes for a lot brilliant folks out there.

at least the RE bubble is more egalitarian in its wealth distribution than the stock bubble. most stock bubble wealth went to insider scumbags. the RE bubble is there for anybody lucky enough to have bought a house in a bubblezone a few years ago, and smart enough to sell before the crash.

I'm still waiting for the promised future where robots produce everything and working for a living is an elective, to avoid boredom. Where the human condition is reduced to how to amuse ourselves thoughout our leisurely lives. Where's my flying car?
