Good progress on EU and US alignment to join forces to bring about a stable, unified Iraq that has representative government:

MM, seriously, where is the progress? Read the article......Europe sent a minor official who so far is saying they hope the Iraqi transition team is successful. I've seen the same thing done in the corporate world......you have this really good client [the US] whose business you don't to lose but who's into a new venture [Iraq] you see as ify. You're a company[the EU] with 20 VPs.........you send one of your low level VPs ["top foreign policy official" whatever that means] to check out the new venture. You smile a lot; give words of encouragement; then get your butt out as fast as possible.

In the meantime, the EU has big time problems with its constitution back home. The last thing they need is to send troops or peace keepers to work in what is a very unpopular war in Europe.

Let's see what Europe says at the end of the visit.
