The author cites two cases to promote his favorite Institute then issues a sweeping condemnation of "the U.S. Department of Justice's Anti-Trust Division, Urban League, NAACP, the Democratic Party and black politicians" with not a shred of further evidence. That's assassination by anecdote, and a weak one at that. The merits of the cases he cites are fine in and of themselves. Do they prove the rest of his emotional accusations? Not even close. List the criteria for helping the "little guy" then evaluate all the cases those organizations dealt with and give me a % number where they were right or wrong. Williams makes his living writing pithy sound bites to please a certain audience, not conducting thorough research, if this column is a typical example (I don't read him often so I can't say for sure).
