FWIW, Jim Miklasheveski reported this morning that Barry McCafferty is becoming more optimistic about a good outcome.

Wonder if he is still optimistic about his solving the USA drug problem. LOL

You more than anyone knows what vietnam did to this country. The iraq war cannot be a repeat.

I see that comparison being made quite often, but never with meat. Your comparisons refer to demonstrations here at home. Hell, you could get me to demonstrate against an unjust war. Americans demonstrate against everything...most are meaningless expressions.

Iraq is (among other reasons) a war to liberate a long oppressed and horribly abused people. I believe that is appropriate.

Frankly, I see very few tactical or strategic parallels between Iraq and Vietnam.

The single biggest difference between the situations is Vietnam received enormous support from both the USSR and China. I do not see any significant power assisting the terrorists in Iraq.

We will prevail, even without support from the NYT.

Imagine the nightly news 5 years from now being much the same as today.

I call that projecting.

Most Americans I know, project negatively. I don't know why.
