I very much agree with you. Iraqi officials themselves think there are only something like 3-4K of active insurgents. They also think there are many times more than that who turn a blind eye or even provide some help to the insurgents, but they think the number of the insurgents is actually pretty low.

How can you say that when just yesterday I posted an article to you that said the following:

"In November 2003, there were an estimated 5,000 insurgents. Today there are an estimated 18,000 insurgents and Iraqi officials estimate up to 200,000 additional supporters. The overwhelming common element between the 43 insurgent groups is resentment about the U.S. military presence."

Is it because you want to believe that there are only 3-4k insurgents and so you ignore what others in the know are saying? Let me tell you it takes a lot more than 3-4k to create kind of chaos that exists in Iraq today.
