Anything over $46,165 would be taxed at a fair and flat rate of 17%. Millions of people would be off the federal income-tax rolls." Since democrats are banking on the hope you sat next to Hillary in math class, that means an income of $51,165 would mean your tax bill is 17% of 5,000... Or $850. I prefer to call his proposal the Simple Tax since the deductible relegates the "flat" label to a testament to liberal doublespeak. Not only does it banish the social engineered practice of encouraging single-income families and discriminating against those who can't afford to own homes. It boils our tax code down to one number. One simple number, two including the deduction. If you change that number, for any reason, I want to know why. This number will be subject to the whims of the majority who take the time to vote. Nothing can be hidden by bulshit or doublespeak. That number will be right there on that postcard in black and white. How many of you can name the number of tax code changes Bill Clinton proposed in his final year of office? Don't bother answering. Liberals are counting on you to not care. Embrace the consequences of your choices. California is about to face a special election because its liberal legislature based our entitlement spending on the fantasy the stock market bubble of 2000 would continue until we're all dead. Lets create new ways to spend capital gains taxes since the nation is awash with underwear-clad daytraders who stopped doing real work to "make money fast" in front of a TV permanently tuned to CNN/MSN/whatever. Now, despite the fact we need Iraqi oil very badly to offset increases in worldwide demand presented by India and China, higher fuel costs are harming industries that have no alternative fuel (airline), we still spend our weekends gridlocked in the ChinaMart parkinglot trying to offset our fuel costs by sending more jobs overseas. Ok, so Democrats advocate more hybrid cars. Except that means I would have to buy a new car. Darn. Haven't finished paying off the old one. Putting your eggs in the Jimmy Dean basket is not going to lead you to salvation and the vindication you desparately seek. You continue to fail to put forth a plan for the future that passes the laugh test. Regaining control of the presidency won't bring the daytrading-in-yesterdays-underwear glory days back. Conservatives took control of the House and Senate and no one noticed until it was all over.
