I knew Gore was going to lose when I heard he picked Donna Brazile to run his campaign. Maybe she has good political instincts but she'd rather indulge her hatred than win elections

That Clinton book might be a disgusting piece of trash, or it might not be! I have read very little about it, but I understand the author is generally well respected and credible. I am totally speculating as I make this comment, because I have no idea what the truth is, but in a way the rape story makes sense. If Hillary really is a lesbian or is very conflicted about sexuality and was not a cheerfully willing partner to Bill, that would go a little way towards explaining some of his sexual misadventures, including the rape of Juanita Broaddrick. Is it plausible that his judgment was totally messed up because the relationship with his wife was so dysfunctional? I am not offering any excuses for Bill, please don't get me wrong. It just seems like this could be a tiny piece of a great big messed up ugly puzzle, if it is true.

I am not sure what you mean about Dean knowing nothing about winning elections. He was governor of New Hampshire. I personally cannot stand Donna Brazile. I think the Democrats need someone who is plain spoken, Southern, very shrewd and not too controversial to run the party. They are not going to win by becoming too much like Republicans, but they cannot win without independents, and Dean rubs a lot of people the wrong way. I think he would be fun to hang out with, intelligent and a good sense of humor, but he shouldn't become the story, and that seems to be what is happening.

When they parachuted her in to Louisiana to bail out Mary Landrieu the turnaround was dramatic.

Yes, "vote early, vote often" helps with such turnarounds.
