Eric,

Another facet of commissions (at least for me) that's changed since the 90's is the choice I have of paying a per trade commission + ECN fees versus a per share commission and I switch between the two plans as (if) my trading changes. With trading a smaller number of shares per trade I go with the per share pricing and can make money with anything over 0.02 profit per trade.
