How do you think people who feel this way should get the attention of the public, or save the lives of these animals? The same way that other people passionate about their causes, whatever they may be, should get the attention of the public. There are many groups passionate about many things which do not feel the need to go out and burn down buildings, destroy property, and injure or kill people. How did Martin Luther King get the attention of the people? How should anti-abortion true believers get the attention of the people? How do same-sex marriage advocates get the attention of the people? There are plenty of ways in today's world to get attention without committing crimes.
